As a sea grant institution, the University of Georgia maintains numerous facilities for coastal research, education, and outreach, including the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography (http://www.skio.uga.edu/) and the UGA Marine Institute on Sapelo Island (https://ugami.uga.edu/). In addition, UGA is home to the Georgia Museum of Natural History (https://naturalhistory.uga.edu/), which includes extensive marine mammal and ichthyology collections.

To apply, candidates must have a PhD in Ecology or a terminal degree in a related field, such as marine sciences, conservation biology, or zoology. Application materials should be submitted as PDFs and include: a) a cover letter indicating your background and suitability for the position and a list of classes that could be taught; b) your curriculum vitae; c) a two-page statement of your teaching philosophy and experiences in undergraduate instruction that includes specific active learning methods you have used or plan to use in the classroom, a rationale of why you use those practices, and how they contribute to student learning; d) the name and contact information (address, email and phone) for three professional references who can address your qualifications.
A separate file (limited to 10 pages) with evidence in support of teaching excellence can also be uploaded. This file could include course syllabi, developed course materials, letters from students taught, peer teaching evaluations, and/or excerpts from student evaluations.
