About the Role
Redhorse is seeking a highly experienced Senior Intelligence Mission Analyst to significantly impact national security. Working within the prestigious Innovation, Data, & Enterprise Assessment Office, Office of the Executive Director, Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)), you will directly support senior-level Department of Defense (DoD) decision-making processes. Your data-driven studies and assessments will influence investment, allocation, and the employment of crucial intelligence mission systems, shaping the future of national security capabilities. This pivotal role is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Identify and collect intelligence and operational data from various organizations and systems involved in military operations.
- Assemble comprehensive datasets reflecting operations during specific study periods, including historical data representative of current systems and practices.
- Perform quantitative analysis of variables affecting performance, focusing on system capabilities, target behavior, infrastructure, environment, and political factors.
- Utilize analytical and data science tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R, Tableau, ArcGIS) to assess mission effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:
- Understand military intelligence strategies and senior leader priorities.
- Develop and present impactful study topics for government consideration, based on key analysis questions.
- Conduct direct observations with joint and coalition forces to clarify mission context and identify relevant datasets.
- Collaborate with stakeholder organizations throughout study planning, analysis, and reporting phases.
- Produce concise and impactful reports (PowerPoint, Word) suitable for briefing senior leadership.
- Support briefings to OUSD(I&S) and other senior DoD decision-makers.
- Strategic Recommendations:
- Identify opportunities to improve capabilities using the DOTMLPF framework (Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities), including TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures).
- Leverage existing analyses of system performance to inform recommendations.
Required Experience/Clearance
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the military or Intelligence Community with exposure to intelligence operations and capabilities.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in operations research or quantitative business/intelligence analysis, proficient in developing measures of effectiveness and using analytic and data science tools.
- Minimum 5 years of experience presenting complex strategic-level analysis to General Officer/Flag Officer/Senior Executive Service (GO/FO/SES) leaders.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Desired Experience
- 15+ years of experience in the military or Intelligence Community.
- 3+ years leading teams in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis of large datasets.
- 5+ years working in an intelligence policy and oversight organization (OSD, Service Headquarters, Combatant Command, Combat Support Agency, or Intelligence Community).
- Master's degree in operations research, data science, business administration, or a STEM field.
- Exceptional adaptability and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technical information.
