Description

  • Oversees tree-trimming, clearing and re-clearing of distribution and transmission power line rights of way.
  • Promotes good customer relations and responds to customer complaints; enforces environmental, health, and safety standards and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepares and submits daily work, personnel records, and other required reports to Right of Way Department.
  • Conducts job briefings with crew before performing work, and again as work conditions change.
  • Ensures right of way crew have proper equipment and materials needed to perform assignments. This includes the management and proper maintenance of vehicles, chippers, tractors, trim machines, chain saws, and miscellaneous equipment. Orders materials and supplies for the crew as needed.
  • Coordinates the oversight of project management, member relations, and work schedule with other Foreman, General Foreman, and member staff.
  • Reports to General Foreman regarding work related problems, material or supply needs, and equipment issues.
  • Performs traffic control duties around work area as needed.
  • Able to safely and efficiently operate all types of ROW tools and equipment.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.



Minimum Qualifications

3 years related experience at a Foreman level.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

As a condition of employment, this position requires a valid driver's license, pre-employment drug test, and must be able to pass DOT physical.

  • Valid Class A or B CDL

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Must be able to travel to various locations and stay overnight as required to complete work assignments. Must be able to work extra hours when necessary and report to work whenever needed during non-scheduled working periods. In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes.
