JOB SUMMARY Inspector position responsible for performing incoming, in-process and final inspections of cables and wire harnesses in a contract manufacturing environment compliant to IPC/WHMA standards. Position may also be assigned to assist with any combination of tasks to test and inspect electronic parts, assemblies, subassemblies, cables, harnesses, for conformance to specifications, drawings, manufacturing instructions, assembly aides, etc. Creation and completion of AS9102 First Article Reports, as well as other standard quality reports by use of Microsoft Office. Support of testing team, including electrical tests of harnesses and cables for continuity using specified equipment to ensure client requirements of more complex assemblies have been met. Visual magnification aids available for visual inspection, while use of appropriate tooling utilized for measuring required dimensional attributes, including but not limited to calipers, rulers, force gauge, goniometers, torque wrenches, and other calibrated tooling. SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to sit, stand, walk, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force regularly, and occasionally up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity to perform activities such as: inspecting manufactured parts (with and without magnification), preparing/analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to distinguish colors and color variation of physical parts and components, and in documentation such as work instructions and engineering drawings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
