Supervisor - Medical Transportation Operations

Regions Hospital has a full-time opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join our HealthPartners Medical Transportation (HPMT) team! HPMT is Regions Hospital's own Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulance and Specialized Transportation (STS) company. The majority of trips HPMT provides are non-emergent inter-facility or hospital discharge transports.

Under the direction of our Operations Manager and in conjunction with the HPMT Medical Director, the Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily operations and directly supervises HPMT's ambulance and wheelchair van staff.

Job Duties:



  • Directly supervises EMT staff and operations.
  • Coordinating initial and ongoing training for department staff.
  • Reviews Clinical documentation and assists in quality improvement and risk management activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining the fleet of ambulances, wheelchair vans, and supply inventory, and arranges for routine maintenance and repairs with our approved vendors activities.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience and Education: Three years of inter-facility EMS ambulance or dispatch experience which includes one year of leadership and/or field training officer responsibility -OR- a Bachelor's degree or (equivalent college coursework) with one year of inter-facility, EMS, leadership, and/or field training experience.


  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

    • Possesses current EMT certification within the state of MN.
    • Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and (if applicable) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
    • NIMS/ICS Training (100, 200, 700) and NIMS/ICS 300, 400 within one year of hire
    • Possesses a current driver's license with a clean driving record containing no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2-year period.
    • Ability to obtain/pass a Federal TSA Background Clearance for airport operations.
    • Must meet MN DOT Specialized Transportation Service requirements:

      • Drug free
      • Clear criminal background
      • Passenger assistance training, Abuse prevention, Defensive driving, and basic first aid trained/certified.
      • Pass physical examination




  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to provide proactive leadership, spreading a vision, and passion to the workplace culture for excellence in patient care and service.
    • Knowledge of a healthcare environment and a strong operations acumen.
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures, medical intervention techniques and skilled in emergency care devices.
    • Skilled in effective teaching, training, and coaching, while implementing best practices and protocols.
    • Ability to implement an effective quality assurance regimen and provide staff with the tools needed to excel in patient care and customer service.
    • Ability to build an engaging, prepared, and respectful culture where staff are energized to provide their best to our patients.




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field

  • Experience:

    • Five years of inter-facility and/or EMS ambulance experience which includes two years of leadership and/or field training officer responsibility.

  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

    • Possesses current paramedic certification and registration within the state of MN

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Familiarity with ImageTrend, DispatchBot, and Aladtec electronic tools.
