Job Summary: The Business Development Representative (BDR) at Holt Industrial Rentals, will be at the forefront of our sales efforts, responsible for generating new business opportunities and driving lead generation efforts. This position will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify and qualify leads, build relationships with prospective clients, and contribute to the overall sales pipeline.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:



  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Lead Generation: Researches and identifies potential business opportunities through outbound efforts, including cold calling, email outreach, and social media engagement
  • Lead Qualification: Qualifies inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, events, and other channels to determine their potential for conversion into customers
  • Sales Outreach: Initiates and maintains communications with potential clients to introduce our products/services and build relationships with key decision-makers
  • Pipeline Development: Maintains and manages a robust sales pipeline by effectively tracking and following up on leads using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Collaboration: Works closely with Account Executives, Sales Managers, and Marketing teams to create strategies and solutions that align with client needs and objectives
  • Market Research: Stays up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market needs to ensure relevant outreach and value proposition
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintains accurate records of sales activities and interactions with leads; Provides regular updates to management on lead generation progress and sales pipeline status
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to engage with prospects and influence key decision-makers.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Proficient with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Familiarity with lead generation techniques and cold outreach strategies.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field (preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to two years of sales, business development, or customer service experience preferred


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • None


Travel:



  • Extensive driving required; overnight travel required
  • Valid driver's license required


Physical Requirements:



  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines


Work Environment:



  • This job is generally performed in a retail and office environment; exposure to computer screens; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
