Reporting to the Director of Budget, the Budget and Revenue Coordinator will be primarily engaged in financial, business and budgetary matters at the College level. They will use their experience in budget, finance, accounting and position control to assist with maintaining and analyzing financial data in order to support departments, programs and accounts receivable activities. The incumbent will assist the Director of Budget in making recommendations, collecting data and giving advice on position funding (position control), organization, policies and procedures in the financial and budgetary areas of the College. This position will be a liaison to the Budget, Finance, Treasury Services and other campus units.

Job Description

  • Assists with advising the departments on business processes and procedures that achieve the unit's objectives taking into account budget, internal control, accounting and policy. Assists departments with required finance/budget forms on business processes, such as budget adjustments, purchase requisitions and orders, travel, college-wide memberships and compliance with college financial procedures.
  • Assists and advises the Director of Budget and/or Associate Vice President, Finance on the financial status of all units in the College and provide analysis on corrective actions if needed.
  • Assists with creating, implementing and maintaining the College's accounting procedures and processes within the Banner system. This includes fiscal year budget development and rolls, payroll encumbrance processes and reports.
  • Assists the Treasury Office with third party billing in the collection of revenue for Workforce Development, includes setting up contracts in the system, working with third parties on specifics, and following through until account is paid in full. Provide back-up assistance for Treasury Services as needed while Treasury employees are out of the office.
  • Assists with analyzing department spending against approved budgets and resolves any variance.
  • Creates and distributes, as needed, financial reports such as reports on capital projects for the College. Updates and maintains budget trend data and completes adhoc reports as needed. Assists departments with their financial reporting needs.
  • Reviews large amounts of data and creates reports, sometimes in a short period.
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Rate of pay $46,150 annualized

  • Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs.
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs.
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs.
  • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations.
  • Ability to compile information into report form.

Minimum Education

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, finance, financial management, general business, or a related field; plus two years of experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, or a related field.

Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
