Job Summary

Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the research project led by the Principal Investigator (PI). Oversee research coordination, gathering and analyzing data. Communicate with different university departments including ORED, the College Grant Administration Team, and sponsors, to facilitate smooth operations and ensure timely completion of tasks in a professional manner.

  • Oversees the collection of project data, analyzing data, and generating reports of project activities according to the project expectations for the PI.
  • Provide administrative support to the PI on any research and outreach-related activities for the projects. Works with students and project evaluator to complete the project tasks.
  • Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment for the assigned projects.
  • Coordinates the travel schedule, TARs, and Expense Reports for the PI, faculty, and students associated with the projects.
  • May Supervise lower-level staff. Works in collaboration with the College of Engineering HR team on student, temporary, and faculty hiring and appointment renewals.
  • Collaborates with the College Grant administrator (s) and ORED to facilitate all the post-award activities: research and budget reports, including expenditure reports on a regular basis.
  • Serves as the University's credit card user for department transactions. Adheres to University's credit card policies and procedures. Maintains record of requisitions, and credit card transactions in the format established by the Budget Manager. Provides details on transactions as needed for account reconciliation, budgeting, and reporting purposes.
  • Responsible for the coordination and execution of events, site visits, research meetings, and seminar speakers events for the projects assigned.
  • Engages students to participate in meetings, workshops, and campus social events.
  • Works with University Graduate School (UGS) to engage students in professional development activities.
  • Works with the college Web Developer, and the Communications team in maintaining the project(s) website.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with participants and other project investigators and stakeholders.
  • Interprets and implements policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Works closely with other University areas (Dean's Office, Office of Research, etc.) to ensure that all essential documents are within the appropriate files and joint activities are executed according to the planned schedule.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience.
