We are seeking a skilled and reliable Boiler Operator to join our facilities management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring boiler systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor boiler systems, including starting up, shutting down, and adjusting controls as needed Perform regular inspections of boilers, pumps, valves, and related equipment Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex boiler system issues Conduct routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs on boiler systems Develop and maintain comprehensive preventive maintenance programs Monitor gauges, meters, and other indicators to ensure boilers are operating within safety parameters Maintain accurate logs of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and fuel consumption Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs Manage water treatment systems and chemical feed equipment Participate in energy conservation efforts and suggest improvements for system efficiency Lead emergency response efforts for critical boiler system failures Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training Valid boiler operator license as required by state regulations Minimum of 5 years of experience in boiler operations and maintenance Strong knowledge of boiler systems, HVAC, and related mechanical equipment Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and environmental standards Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints Proficient in using computerized control systems and basic computer applications Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences Physically capable of performing tasks in various environmental conditions Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in boiler rooms and mechanical spaces May be exposed to high temperatures, noise, and potentially hazardous materials Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights Rotating shifts may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays |
