The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Medicine at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a Financial Coordinator to provide support with financial activities, purchasing and accounts payable transactions.

Responsibilities



  • Responsible for processing of all accounts payable invoices and purchasing transactions via ARC and FFE, creates purchase requisition and purchase orders.
  • Utilize Center's P-card to facilitate payments and purchasing of reagents for lab and reconciles charges on a monthly basis charging supplies to the associated chart string.
  • Provides financial support for fundraising initiatives including gift transmittals, event revenue logs, and acknowledgement letters.
  • Assists with center's quarterly and fiscal year close preparation, identifies open purchase orders for goods and services for accruals to rollover into the next fiscal year.
  • Process supply orders for the center.
  • Performs fiscal and operational tasks with routine and special projects and activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications



  • Two years of related experience


Other Requirements



  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
