Job Title: Data Center Support Field Engineer


Location: Dallas, TX area

Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Pay Rate: Up to $25 an hour W2 + expenses

Travel Radius: 300 miles

Travel Perks: Mileage reimbursement and paid travel time

On-Call: Participation in an on-call rotation is required

Overview:

This is a great career opportunity for individuals looking to grow in IT Data Center hardware support. You'll receive 16 weeks of intensive, hands-on training (online and in live classroom settings) on our client's OEM hardware.

With the world progressing toward AI and digital transformation, Data Center Support has never been more critical or more in focus. This role places you at the forefront of supporting the infrastructure that powers cloud, AI, and enterprise systems.

We're seeking a motivated Data Center Support Field Engineer in the Dallas, TX area. This field-based role involves supporting servers, storage, and network systems across a regional territory of up to 300 miles. You must have your own vehicle, and you'll be reimbursed for mileage and paid for travel time. An on-call rotation will also be part of the position.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues involving enterprise servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
  • Perform installations, repairs, and break/fix support using proper tools and following detailed procedures.
  • Operate effectively in data center environments and various customer locations.
  • Document service activities clearly and professionally.
  • Engage in customer-site residency assignments when required by the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to after-hours support needs as necessary.
  • Collaborate with peers, escalate issues when appropriate, and maintain operational excellence.



Requirements:


  • At least one year of experience installing/replacing hardware in an enterprise Data Center environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license, active insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within a 300-mile radius.
  • Comfortable participating in an on-call rotation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow written procedures and perform component-level repairs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and professional communication skills.
  • Strong organization and documentation habits.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or certifications a plus.
  • 1-3 years of relevant IT hardware or field support experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of server, storage, and networking infrastructure.
