Job Title: Workforce Development Academy for Youth Coordinator

Department Name: Civil Engineering

Salary Range: Hourly 20.00-32.00

Work Schedule: This is part-time, non-exempt positon; Monday - Friday, hours to be determined. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of Dr. Hassan Hashemian, the incumbent is responsible for

Coordinating the grant entitle "Workforce Development Academy for Youth" The project involves in assisting with academic instruction, organizing resource material, set-up laboratory activities, assisting with coordination of field trips, conducting inventory, assisting with program close-out activities, accompany students to all campus activities, assisting in invoicing the program's charges, ; training of students workers; and assisting with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment, and with general maintenance of laboratory.

Requirements:

  • Community college or high school graduate
  • Effective communicator to work in a multicultural and multiethnic environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat

Desired Qualifications:

  • Organizational abilities in operations and individual files.
  • Maintain online calendars of all activities including meetings, workshops, field trips, and graduation ceremony
  • Punctual with good time management skills

The incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or the continued employment of current UAS employees who apply for the position.
