CNC Programmer is responsible for operating and programming assigned CNC machinery, effectively and in a timely manner.
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models. Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process. Creating instructions for machinists. Making calculations for programming including sequence of operations, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting methodologies.
Communicating with engineers and CNC operators. Evaluates completed programs by running simulations or tests. Modifying existing programs for increased efficiency. Complies with all safety rules and regulations. Other tasks as assigned by the Manager
7+ years CNC Machinist experience with 3+ years programming, Espirit, Surfcam and Mastercam, Virtual for Rollamatic a plus, Unisom (applications Knowledge of multiple CNC machinery
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read and interpret design blueprints. Extensive experience with computer modeling software. Strong attention to detail. Active listening skills. Must have good problem-solving skills, and highly detail oriented.
Ability to work independently, work to deadlines and possess excellent time management skills. Must be mechanically inclined. Ability to work after-hours when required. Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel - typically not required Job demands may require long periods of sitting and standing Job demands may require occasional bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds
