Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Project Accounting Coordinator in our Finance department! The Project Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting the processes involving the expenses, billings, and budgets for projects assigned. They will maintain cost records and expenses related to the project(s) as well as support month end project accounting close functions. This individual will investigate any billing issues and assist with revenue recognition activities. They will collaborate with project managers on financial aspects of projects until completion.



Responsibilities

    Perform invoicing in the accounting system and report monthly project earnings
  • Analyze project cost reports and meets frequently with stakeholders to review status of projects for invoicing, profitability, earnings, costs, and cash flow
  • Perform accounts receivable functions for assigned projects in the accounting system
  • Preform collection outreach for projects as necessary
  • Reconcile invoices to clients, vendors, or contractors
  • Set up and maintains projects in the accounting system according to contract terms
  • Maintain an organized accounting system with several accounts while staying compliant with financial regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Serve as a liaison between Operations, Leadership and the accounting team to ensure accuracy
  • Monitor system for payments, purchase orders, invoices, and statements and follows up where necessary
  • Research financial issues to provide recommended resolution


Qualifications

  • 1-2 years in accounting, finance or related field, preferably in a project-based environment
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-changing environment with changing priorities. Self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and Basic Accounting Principles (GAAP); Experience with Deltek or similar ERP project-based software preferred
