HVAC Mechanical Journeyman (union Local 602 Steamfitters & Refrigeration)

What you will do:

Journeyman must be skilled craftsmen in their trade, and we prefer a minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in the HVAC plumbing, pipefitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry. You may be required to pass a satisfactory examination as to your special skill.

  • Repair equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers' expectations.
  • Be proactive in refrigerant leak checking and repairs.
  • Perform refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks in a timely manner as assigned.
  • Monitor and log refrigerant usage within assigned stores.
  • Participate in company's "on call" after hours emergency call program.
  • Assist with trouble shooting problems.
  • Complete equipment inventories as assigned.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What we look for:

Required

  • Requires Mechanical Journeyman status.
  • Five+ years of residential / light commercial/commercial HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Valid driver's license, appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants, boiler and steam operational & service knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with supermarket rack systems, display cases, self-contained cases, ice machines and walk-ins highly preferred.
  • Journeyman qualified in refrigeration and HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • EPA certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal.

This is a Bargaining Unit Position Local 602 Steamfitters & Refrigeration.
