Examples of Duties

* Assist with the post-award review, negotiation, submission and administration of sponsored research contracts and agreements from state, federal and foundation funding agencies, industry sponsors, pharmaceutical companies that sponsor research development and clinical research activities conducted by SIU faculty at SIU and its affiliated hospitals and clinics.
* Communicate with the appropriate research regulatory committees, legal counsel, sponsors and clinical research organizations to discuss any issues related to a new or ongoing sponsored projects and reconcile contract language prior to contract execution. Route contracts for review and comment as applicable.
* Provide status updates on sponsored projects to principal investigators, sponsors, external agencies, study coordinators, departmental administrators and hospitals.
* Perform other post-award functions such as completion of Advance Account Requests and Grant and Contract Award Acceptance forms.
* Complete supplemental contract documents including intergovernmental agreements, payment information forms, specific sponsor documents, progress reports, etc. for sponsored projects.


Qualifications

Prior working knowledge and 5+ years' experience with post-award functions for sponsored projects at an institution of higher education.
