Job Description: As a Mass Finishing Tech, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our production processes. Your responsibilities will include visually inspecting components, operating mass finishing equipment, conducting in-process measurements, and troubleshooting equipment to maintain optimal performance. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual inspections of components using a microscope with reticle to detect cosmetic and functional discrepancies.
- Operate mass finishing equipment according to procedures, measuring material removal and documenting results.
- Conduct in-process measurements using micrometers, drop gauges, scales, pH gauge, proof tester, optical comparators, or similar equipment.
- Troubleshoot and monitor vibratory equipment to ensure desired polish results, including media and slurry management.
- Utilize strong mechanical abilities to perform machine repairs such as replacing belts, bearings, and pulleys.
- Monitor machine operations to identify component defects or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain adherence to safety practices and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure traceability of components and complete necessary documentation as per regulatory requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment.
- Follow manufacturing schedules and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in inspection, assembly, or intricate hand work preferred.
- Familiarity with FDA and ISO manufacturing practices preferred.
- Ability to perform visual inspections using a microscope for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Good manual dexterity for handling small parts.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Office applications, internet usage, and email.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and make valid conclusions based on data.
- Proficiency in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
