POSITION SUMMARY: The experienced Manual Machinist will produce a variety of high-precision, high-quality components required for our machine tools and automation products. This work, conducted in a bright, temperature-controlled environment.. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *Plans and completes setups from detailed manufacturing drawings *Sets up and operates manual lathes and mills in a short run, close tolerance environment *Able to read engineering drawings (GD&T) *Selects appropriate tooling based on materials and tolerances *Operates machines to produce high precision, low volume parts, calculating proper SFM and feeds. *Inspects work to ensure proper specifications and very close tolerances are met *Debur, drill, and tap work to the highest standards. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: *3+ years' experience with setup and operation of lathes, turning centers, mills, and/or vertical machining centers in a short run, close tolerance job shop/manufacturing environment; minimum of high school diploma or equivalent *Attention to detail and a desire to maintain high standards of workmanship *Possesses own quality inspection and hand tools *Innovative and forward-thinking with a continuous improvement mindset *Applicant should be mechanically inclined, have good problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, be self-motivated and possess the ability to do highly accurate work that requires concentration and physical effort *Flexibility - willingness to operate other equipment, perform work outside job duties when asked, and work overtime hours when required *The ability to communicate ideas, work in an organized manner in a team environment, and have a respectful attitude is critical for the success of any candidate in this role *Fit Entrust Core Values: Driven to perform; Solve problems, don't create them; Strong individual who values a team; Desire to find what's next; Committed to detail and consistency *Journeymen/Toolmakers encouraged to apply PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: *Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted. Occasional use of overhead cranes for lifts greater than 50 pounds. *Regularly stands for 8 hours *Regularly bends, stoops, reaches, climbs, and moves. *Regularly exerts up to 10 pounds of force and frequently exerts up to 25 pounds of force to move objects. *Work environment is bright and temperature controlled. *The nature of the work involves contact with various metals and oils. |
