Description
KLJ Engineering, a 100% employee-owned engineering, environmental and surveying company is seeking a Practice Leader to oversee operations of its growing environmental and cultural resources departments. The Practice Leader will report to the Environmental and Corridor Services Business Line Managing Director and will be responsible for the following:
- Developing and implementing strategic operations and sales plans for the Practice, in coordination with the Managing Director and in alignment with Business Line's overall growth strategy.
- Driving the execution of the Practice's sales and key client account management strategies in collaboration with the Managing Director, including collaboration with peer Practice Leaders in other Business Lines to promote cross-selling of services.
- Ensuring accurate Practice-level client and pipeline data is maintained in the company's client relationship management (CRM) system.
- Managing the Practice's operational and financial performance, including preparation of Practice-level revenue forecasts.
- Assessing, developing, and establishing the Practice's leadership and services teams' structure.
- Leading overall quality of technical services and deliverables generated by the Practice.
- Directing the hiring of Practice staff, consistent with the staffing plan developed with the Managing Director, coordinating with Human Resources and supervisors to post job requisitions as needed to meet the staffing plan.
- Coordinating and collaborating with peer operations and shared services leadership to drive
Company strategic goals and business plans.
- Resolving operational and associated business challenges in coordination with the Managing
Director and Chief Operating Officer.
- Supporting contract negotiations in collaboration with project management and legal teams.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, natural resources, geology, archaeology, or related fields.
- Five years' department operations and supervisory experience, including direct experience with assessing and managing operational performance via a business profit and loss.
- Ten years' experience overseeing environmental or cultural resource projects, including site investigation and remediation, environmental documentation/planning, permitting, or environmental compliance.
- Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist licensure preferred.
- Willingness to travel 30% or more per year.
