About the Position:
As theVehicle Engineer, this role will support the technical execution of all activities associated with system development, build, test and evaluation to ensure operational and performance requirements are satisfied andensure the maturation and successful transition of the system from development through production and fielding within budget and schedule parameters. This role requires an ability to understand and represent complex system, subsystem, and component interactions and activities to support component hardware and software designs in for one of our ground vehicle platforms.

About the role:
As theVehicle Engineer/Architect, you will support the technical execution of all activities associated with system development, build, test and evaluation to ensure operational and performance requirements are satisfied andensure the maturation and successful transition of the system from development through production and fielding within budget and schedule parameters.TheVehicle Engineer/Architectwill support, and act in alignment with the Chief Engineeras thetechnical design authority, providing direction and guidance to a multi-disciplined team of Systemsand Design Engineersthrough all phases of the program with a spirit of creativity, innovation, quality and continuous improvement.This is a technical leadership position to broadly execute guidance from the Chief Engineer and Product Manager.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for This Role:
  • Vehicle Engineer/Architectare accountable to the Chief Engineer (CE) and have the authority and responsibility for vehicle system products and tasks as delegated. They will assist the CE in managing cross-functional technical scope within schedule and other constraints. They will help the CE ensure a balanced, integrated, and compliant design across the vehicle system.
  • Vehicle Engineer/Architecthave the authority to execute the designated vehicle technical scope working with IPTs and functional organizations. Coordinate with various integrated product teams and Project Engineering is expected.
  • Vehicle Engineer/Architectwill work closely with System Integration and System Test to plan, execute, and coordinate physical and functional integration and test activities including bench, Shop, and Fieldsites.
  • Responsibility for escalating to the CE for product design and conflict resolution
  • Coordination of architectures and system design and any changes, conditions, inputs and final resolution for requirements, trades, and alternatives
  • Oversee and conduct vehicle and modification integration and test projects including vehicle product launches, engineering checkouts, verification, reliability, and other testing, in coordination with Systems Integration and System Test.
  • Oversee development of verification plans and manage their execution including vehicle test and production and field site shakedown and verification
  • Participate in and lead design and integration troubleshooting/RCCA and problem report/test incident resolution for production, development, test, or modification projects including working acrossSystemsEngineering, Design and Development, Logistics Test & Evaluation, prototype shop, production, quality, and test sites.
  • Review and help manage system and physical architecture baselines encompassing vehicle modifications, upgrades, sustainment/obsolescence, and kits across the total integrated vehicle
  • Develop and evaluate checkpoint and design milestone artifacts and ensure technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and conduct trade studies/structured decisions for system and subsystem design including system-level impacts to include balance of space, weight, power, cost, reliability, and performance.
  • Developing and maturing system architectures that will allow the vehicle system design to meet platform requirements
  • Understanding and development of systems & subsystem level functional and performance requirements, including decomposition and traceability
  • Ability to accurately capture and review connectivity diagrams at a system/subsystem level in various tools (MBSE and/or electrical design capture)
  • Ability to describe platform behaviors using various SysML diagrams
  • Understanding and development of vehicle & subsystem-level integration and test plan
  • Integration of various components into existing and established vehicle architectures

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM Discipline - Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering preferred.Other technical degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
  • Experience with software and/or LRU development a plus
  • Broad based knowledge of systems engineering along with other technical engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.).
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience engaging w/ internal and external customer leaders.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation with regards to the latest technology and standard processes.
  • Desire to leadand learnwith a spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated initiative and organizationalskills.
  • Ability to work in a teamenvironment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g.,Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Additional Requirements/Information:
  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible)
  • This position may require the candidate to be able toclimb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired.Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
  • Travel up to 10% maybe periodically required.
