Role Description:

We are seeking a
detail-oriented and proactive intern to assist with the administration of our
certification program. This position will involve supporting the conversion of
performance checklists into an online application, helping develop and document
certification program processes, and managing certification candidate data. The
intern will gain hands-on experience in exam development, process
documentation, and candidate management, all while contributing to the smooth
operation of the certification program.

Learning Objectives:

1. Exam Development,
Management, and Administration:

  • Learn the key components of a certification exam, including introductory blocks, question blocks, reported topics, outcomes, and reporting methods.
  • Gain experience in converting checklists for performance evaluations from Word documents into step-by-step log entries within the online certification platform
  • Learn to assist in the development and management of certification exams, including building exams/assessments in the exam administration platform and verifying their functionality.
  • Develop an understanding of exam timelines, candidate eligibility, and the coordination required to ensure smooth exam administration.
  • Gain practical experience in reviewing exam materials for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all exam components align with program standards.
  • Learn how to manage exam-related data entry and ensure that all candidate information is properly documented.

2. Process
Documentation:

  • Gain experience in documenting workflows, procedures, and guidelines that support the certification process, from candidate registration to exam completion.
  • Learn how to structure process documents in a clear, organized manner that allows other team members to follow instructions easily.
  • Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures for certification program tasks, ensuring that each process is efficient and follows best practices.
  • Understand the importance of clear process documentation for consistency, accuracy, and program scalability.
  • Learn to identify areas where process documentation can be improved to streamline operations and enhance candidate experience.
  • Contribute suggestions to refine processes based on firsthand involvement in certification program tasks.

3. Certification
Candidate Management:

  • Gain experience in communicating effectively with certification candidates, including providing updates, answering inquiries, and ensuring that they have the necessary resources for exam preparation.
  • Learn how to maintain accurate and confidential candidate records in certification databases.
  • Gain experience in managing candidate progress, tracking exam completion, and ensuring all necessary documents and assessments are submitted on time.

General Responsibilities:

  • Convert performance checklists from Word documents to performance log steps in the online certification platform.
  • Assist in creating and updating process documentation for certification program workflows.
  • Support the administration of certification exams, including ensuring accurate data entry and tracking of candidate progress.
  • Communicate with certification candidates, providing updates and assistance as needed.
  • Manage candidate records, tracking exam completion, and generating reports on certification status.

Education: Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program
(education, training, HR, administration)

Key Requirements &
Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office productivity tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Interest in program administration, process improvement, and certification management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent and close visual work at desk or computer.
  • Frequent sitting and working at desk.
  • Frequent verbal and written communication with team and other stakeholders by phone or video conferencing.

Time Requirements & Compensation:

  • Remote
  • 35 hours per week, May/June through August.
  • Compensation: $18.00/Hour
