Role Description:

The ASTM Multimedia team is seeking a motivated individual who is interested in interactive media design to assist in growing the engagement with ASTM multimedia products and services centered around virtual learning activities. This individual should be able to demonstrate working knowledge of CG design, animation, and related programing. This position will be responsible for existing content evaluation, feedback, and development contribution to, at least, one new interactive project developed by the Multimedia team.

Learning Objectives:

Provided with access to ASTM's CGI resources and ASTM procedural documents (the standard), the Interactive Media Designer will be able to evaluate existing virtual trainings and provide feedback on efficacy, design, programing, and enhancements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze trends, technologies, and methods for effective interactive design in STEM related industries
  • Collaborate with Multimedia and other stakeholder departments on product development initiatives to achieve desired outcomes
  • Review existing ASTM interactive material and provide actionable feedback that refines development approach and output based on goals provided by development teams and end users
  • Generate content as needed for CG animation purposes to support technical training media initiatives within the department.
  • Work well with staff and contractor resources to effectively collaborate and achieve common goals

Education: Must be enrolled in a related Bachelor's degree program as a rising Junior or Senior at an accredited College or University

Key Requirements & Competencies:

Some experience with:

  • Unity, Three.js, WebGL Applications, some C#/JavaScript programming, Blender
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Painter)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good interpersonal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

* Frequent work at desk or computer

* Frequent verbal and written communication by phone/email/video/in-person

Time Requirements & Compensation:

  • Remote
  • 35 hours per week, May/June through August.
  • Compensation: $18.00/Hour
