Job Summary
The Vice President, Product Solutions drives strategic engagement with customers and business units to shape, identify, develop, and implement innovative technology solutions and applications to enable strategic outcomes.

Primary Objectives
  • Lead the creation of innovative tech-driven solutions, integrations, and automation technologies.
  • Proactively collaborate with business unit leadership to align and prioritize strategic initiatives and projects that enhance operational value propositions, transparency, and customer experience.
  • Define and drive core Product Solutions vision, mission, roadmaps, common engagement standards, and best practices across all application portfolios.
  • Direct, manage, and develop geographically dispersed leadership teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the Product Solutions team in identifying opportunities to enhance business outcomes by leveraging additional functionality from existing systems or integrating solutions from across the broader enterprise.
  • Utilize a deep understanding of both system applications and business needs and processes to develop innovative solutions that address key business challenges and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Seek out and evaluate new capabilities to optimize processes, improve efficiencies, and drive strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Create and execute with business and financial leadership a strategic vision to provide insightful and actionable business information used to analyze results, forecast performance, assess competitive positioning, and evaluate strategic opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor adherence to integration standards, processes, documentation, and controls for data integrity, quality, and security.
  • Create working group cadences to drive and align on best practice, standardization, and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively engage with business unit leadership to spearhead technology process initiatives that enable achievement of business objectives.
  • Anticipate, evaluate, and assess applicability of emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with business development teams on solution proposal aspects of bids and proposals.
  • Guide Product Solution team engagement and understanding of business unit's system and application functionality and capabilities.
  • Oversee and monitor identification and tracking of systems and applications within a sustainable Application Portfolio management system.
  • Effectively manage agile programs and projects by overseeing scope, resource allocation, changes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Compile and evaluate projects for development into future product design.
  • Analyze enterprise technology capabilities to identify priority gaps and opportunities.
  • Develop and manage multi-year Product Solutions budgets and expenditure forecasts.
  • Effectively manage Product Solution team resources and budgets to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Engage with and provide direction to Integration and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) teams as an integral partner in developing technology solutions.
  • Define, review, and monitor adherence and achievement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Proactively anticipate and mitigate obstacles that may impact initiative delivery and system performance and reliability.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, or similar degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in directly-related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
Work Experience
  • 12+ years' related software application and/or product solution experience required
  • 6+ years' experience in a technical leadership position required
  • Experience with software design in complex, multi-tasking, real-time highly available systems required
  • Experience with complex software solutions across multiple generations of product required
  • Experience in Agile software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology required
  • Experience in the logistics, transportation, containerized shipping, or related industry strongly preferred

  • Deep understanding of the principles and processes for implementing digital transformation strategies.
  • Ability to align technology goals with broader business objectives to drive growth and operational efficiency.
  • Comprehensive understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation systems.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including developers, engineers, and external vendors.
  • Proven ability to drive and shape technology strategy and capability to deliver complex solutions.
  • Proficiency in evaluating, selecting, and implementing emerging technologies for competitive advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, business partners, customers, and employees.
  • Proven capability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex technological and operational challenges.
  • Proven ability to design solutions encompassing dimensional models.
  • Advanced ability to identify complex problems, use logic and reasoning to review related information, develop and evaluate options, reach conclusions, and implement solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate others, influence behavior, and lead by example.
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Visio, Excel with PowerPivot, Word, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.

Zone 1: Starting rate $260,000; up to $310,000 for highly qualified candidates
This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment.
Annual Incentive Opportunity: 30% of eligible compensation
