Description

The Financial Literacy Specialist assists with facilitation, development and implementation of financial literacy initiatives. Coordinates with the branches to enhance the client and employee experience and virtual/on-line experience in relation to financial literacy outreach. Assists to create and maintain favorable response and public image for the Bank. All employees follow our bank philosophies: See It, Own It, Solve It and Find a Way to Say Yes.

FACILITATES FINANCIAL LITERACY

Helps identify internal instructors and ensure they are adequately trained to provide financial literacy presentations, programs and curriculum. Maintains presentation materials and "Best Practices" for @Work presentations, on-line financial wellness center, and financial literacy newsletters/outreach materials. Work with Compliance to ensure the Bank both documents and maximizes Community Reinvestment Act opportunities. Administers bank and EITC scholarship awards and presentations. Facilitates Cemark program to ensure adequate scheduling and maximizes budgetary spend.

PROMOTES FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAMS

Develops and fosters relationships with local schools (vocational, elementary, secondary and collegiate) and assists with financial outreach to all target segments. Assists with development and promotion of CNBear on-line presence. Works closely with the marketing department and internal communications to provide adequate awareness for the financial literacy program(s). Helps to identify financial literacy opportunities.

ENHANCES DIFFERENTIATING FINANCIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Work collaboratively with the marketing and training departments, Market Executives, Community Office Managers, and Senior Management to provide a seamless experience with vendors and bank staff to ensure effective planning delivery of differentiating experiences (e.g. Financial Reality Fairs) to include volunteer coordinating, community outreach, surveys and measurement analytics.

SEEKS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Seek out financial education based conferences and/or training opportunities to help progress the literacy initiatives of the department. Training Tracks are designed to help link job impacts other areas of the bank, provide tools to have effective

conversations, and be successful in your career. Annual, job-specific training opportunities are assigned and/or available for timely completion. Travel is sometimes required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job requirement satisfactorily and a skills inventory is listed below. A four-year degree in education, marketing, communications, or public relations, and one year related experience is preferred. A background screening will be conducted.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, top management, board of directors, customers, regulatory agencies and the general public.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Ability to use telephone systems and possess good computer skills including email, Internet and intranet use. Prior experience with the Adobe suite and website maintenance is preferred but not required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in

written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Ability to attain the CFEI (Certified Financial Education

Instructor) or related designations.
