Staff Accountant II

Under minimal supervision, the Staff Accountant II is responsible for daily financial activities; maintains and reconciles financial databases, schedules, and records; analyzes and reports data; responds to requests for financial information; prepares various reports; verifies and corrects data; reviews documentation; performs special projects.




  • Prepares and enters journal vouchers.
  • Prepares and enters department deposits. Maintains deposit system users and templates.
  • Prepares, analyzes and distributes fund and account reconciliations.
  • Researches and responds to inquiries from other university departments and student organizations.
  • Special projects as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting methods and procedures.
  • Accounting and bookkeeping skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate personal computer and various software packages.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain records and files.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
