Position Summary:

To repair and maintain customer's aircraft in accordance with the repair stations, FAA's and manufacturer's airworthiness and maintenance standards.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Review and evaluate the day to day maintenance operation within the repair station and take action as necessary with subordinates and/or coordinate laterally with other department heads to correct deficiencies requiring remedial action.
  • Provide guidance and direct supervision to staff regarding the repair station's quality policy and teamwork.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel workmanship meets the quality standards required by the repair station, FAA and customer.
  • Ensure that parts removed from or pending installation onto a customer aircraft are properly protected and/or preserved to prevent damage from FOD during the maintenance processes, installation and storage.
  • Ensure the proper handling of customer aircraft and parts from induction into the repair station through inspection, maintenance, modification and repair to final inspection and release to the customer.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, while ensuring customer projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provides aircraft and component quotes for repair and or inspections as required.
  • Must respond quickly to meet customer needs and resolve problems.
  • Act as an advisor to aircraft maintenance team regarding overall projects, tasks and operations.
  • Ensure that all necessary maintenance entries are properly executed by the responsible mechanics on maintenance forms and work orders used by the repair station or the customer's equivalent.
  • Select and assign staff, coordinating activities of work assignments, setting priorities, and directing work as required to meet deadlines.
  • Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures positive employee performance development.
  • Train and assist subordinates in the proper aircraft maintenance policies, procedures and practices to be followed within the repair station.
  • Function as the primary point of contact between the repair station and suppliers regarding subcontracted maintenance personnel and routine and non-routine services subcontracted by the repair station.
  • Establish and approve policies and procedures to ensure proper and efficient servicing, maintenance, overhaul and modification of customer aircraft within the repair station, and administer such policies and procedures once published.
  • Assist in the development, approval and implementation of maintenance and inspection procedures for the repair station.
  • Coordinate with other departments on long range planning to achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate policies with other departments to ensure detailed and definitive handling of maintenance on customer aircraft at the repair station.
  • Maintain accurate records concerning all work performed using Pentagon 2000 Maintenance program and IAW with the Repair Station Manual.
  • Direct and develop a component repair program.
  • Maintain the repair station premises in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintain all hangar and shop tools and equipment in a serviceable condition, ensuring that periodic checks and calibrations are performed on tools and equipment when required.
  • Coordinates with the Airbus MRO network and reports KPI on a monthly basis.
  • Act as a positive role model in all aspects of professional performance.
  • As a "safety sensitive" position, this position requires that the employee be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner as an essential job function.
  • Ensure assigned work area is kept clean and free of hazards to both personnel and the aircraft.
  • Follow all necessary safety precautions; hearing and eye protection, use of chemicals, engine and propeller hazards, fall protection, etc.
  • Maintain a FOD-free work environment.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety Regulations.
  • Participate in on-the-job training as required.
  • Observe safety procedures and personnel policies.
  • Regular attendance required as outlined in company policy.



Additional Responsibilities:

Education:



  • Certified by FAA or EASA with a current Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic rating preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.



Experience:



  • Five years' experience in maintenance, repair and overhaul.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Some job travel may be required.
  • Must understand, read and write proficiently in the English language to read and understand appropriate manuals, schematics, and technical information necessary to adequately perform duties.
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of CFR 14 Federal Aviation Regulation.
  • Computer proficient in MS Office Packages.
  • Excellent organizational skills.



Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:



  • Proficient with Excel to develop KPI reports and charts.
  • Must have 2+ years demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills to make independent decisions.
  • Must be able to interact cordially and productively with subordinates, co-workers and management.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must understand, read and write proficiently in the English language to read and understand appropriate manuals, schematics, and technical information necessary to adequately perform duties.
  • Must be able to see clearly with or without corrective lenses and hear clearly with or without hearing aid devises.
  • Must be able to reach overhead, squat, bend, stand and walk around regularly.



Licensure/Certifications:



  • Certified by FAA or EASA with current Airframe and Power Plant license preferred.



Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):



  • English language is required; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.



Travel Required:



  • Domestic and International travel may be required based on customer requirements.



Eligibility:



  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) status.



Physical Requirements:



  • Sitting, Standing, Squatting/Kneeling, Walking, Speaking, Hearing, Vision, Manual Dexterity, ability to work in somewhat confined spaces.
