The Salvation Army Midland Division Headquarters located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a Development Specialist. This individual will Secure institutional financial gifts through personal solicitation and written proposals, which will provide funding for programs, corps, and general operations of The Salvation Army. Manage a portfolio of government and private foundations, and assist with corporate prospects for solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship to achieve organizational goals and objectives in collaboration with Divisional Social Services. Achieve expected fundraising targets for grant making performance. In pursuit of this objective, the Development Specialist will develop and execute a plan to diversify, strengthen and increase the grant funding base including developing new sources of funding. Physical and Working Conditions Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Work requires frequent use of computer terminal and other office equipment. Requires long periods of sitting, and close visual examination of computer products. There may be some standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, and small packages. Position is occasionally expected to help set up rooms for meetings and special events. Employee Status Normal work hours will be determined by supervisor. |
