Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) Spend Manager is a key contributor to Amy's Kitchen's strategic goals. An experienced negotiator and manager are responsible for working with people throughout the company to facilitate, develop and manage the MRO spend on products and services, bringing the best value in product selection, performance, quality, service, and pricing. This role will be responsible for implementing a Strategic Sourcing process throughout the organization. It will be a key player in evaluating and developing the key systems and tools needed to support the company's procurement process. This position will drive, track, and deliver against cost savings targets and will present results to management periodically. Also responsible for leading a team of individuals responsible for purchasing for Amy's Kitchen.

    Manage an area spend of $15 to 30 MM. Spend consists of, but is not limited to MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul),
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide Maintenance, Repair, and Operations purchasing policy, coordinating with department leaders from Finance, Quality, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to build a policy that supports Amy's long term vision.
  • Partner with IT in the development of IT systems which support the procure to pay controls for MRO Spend.
  • Partner with Operations to identify ways to manage usage levels to an appropriate level, including securing unsecure inventories.
  • Lead in the identification of critical spares and min/max levels required at each plant location taking into consideration cross-functionality and minimizing inventory dollars.
  • Develop strategy on consignment inventory in the parts room and any other area where applicable.
  • Use strong quantitative and qualitative skills to identify opportunities to lower costs and increase efficiencies, while maintaining an agreed upon target support levels for our customers.
  • Qualify new suppliers and ensure materials ordered consistently meet quality specifications.
  • Lead assessment of metrics to monitor and optimize supplier performance, order fulfillment rates, customer lead times, and production plant stocking rates.
  • Use strong quantitative and qualitative skills to identify areas of improvement opportunity to lower costs and increase efficiencies, while maintaining an agreed upon support levels for our production facilities.
  • Support all Supply Chain programs including supplier engagement as well as process improvements.
  • Conduct RFQ events, prepare bid analysis, present sourcing recommendations to Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with company, legal, and other requirements.
  • Oversee and manage supplier initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Execute sourcing strategies for the indirect category.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment by communicating effectively with partners on key objectives.
  • Develop partnership with all cross-functional areas
  • Identify new opportunities and drive results in support productivity and cost savings goals.
  • Drive risk management and business continuity planning with internal stakeholders.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for supervising 4 Maintenance Buyers and 4 Inventory Clerks. This would include both exempt and non-exempt.



Qualifications and Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or Supply Chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Management, or Supply Chain required
  • 5+ years of Category-Specific experience in Indirect: Goods and Services, Strategic Sourcing, Negotiating and Contracting; CPG or Dairy industry experience a plus
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt, CPSM or APICS is a plus
  • 5 years change management experience in an evolving environment
  • Experience using ERP or similar system highly desired.
  • 2+ years of management experience including leading teams.
  • MRO and Operating Supplied experience required (such as sourcing of cleaning products, lubricants, safety equipment, etc.).

  • Understand Enterprise business relationships and how role impacts others.
  • Experience in establishing successful cross-functional relationships is critical
  • Possess personal communication and presentation skills necessary to crisply present relevant information to Leadership.
  • Ability to establish and maintain priorities in order to complete assignments by deadlines without detailed instructions.
  • Controls directly the results achieved with a strong course correction in case of underperforming results
  • Develop and monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance for key spend categories and team.
  • Track performance within each spend category and define impact

  • Proficient with MS Office suite and other work-related software

Language Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or employees.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to translate and relate complex information in a straight forward and non-jargon based way

Mathematical Skills

  • Must understand how to build and monitor variances to budget.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to analyze and research opportunities to determine if they are a good potential fit for the brand.

Travel

Up to 25% travel required at this time with three plants and distribution centers. Will increase as new plants come onboard.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
