What You'll Do:

Our Continuous Improvement & Operations internship offers an impactful opportunity to support projects aimed at optimizing processes, enhancing quality, and promoting innovation. You will work with data analysis to identify inefficiencies and uncover trends, help streamline operations, reduce production costs, and improve throughput. By contributing to quality enhancement projects, you'll support higher product reliability and customer satisfaction. You'll also collaborate across departments like production, quality assurance, and supply chain, fostering better communication and teamwork. Additionally, you may assist in sustainability initiatives and employee engagement efforts, ultimately driving tangible improvements that support the company's strategic goals and success.

What You'll Need:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Coursework in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Quality Management, or Process Improvement is a plus.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or 5S.
  • Experience with data analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or statistical software, is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends, analyze data, and solve problems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with teams.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Compensation:

  • $21.00-$27.00 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience and educational background

Work Hours/Length of Program:

  • The internship will run for 12 weeks from May to August
  • Temporary Part/Full Time, targeting 40 hours per week
  • Exact start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules and the needs of the business
  • This is a paid internship

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

This position is based in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and involves working in a manufacturing environment/general exposure to a manufacturing environment. The environment may involve exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, or other factors. Employees are required to abide by PPE guidelines when onsite.

  • Successful completion of a drug screening and a physical exam are required for this role
  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • May involve moving or lifting items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing setting

East Granby, CT
