What we are looking for

Self-directed inside sales-oriented position based in the Career Center focused on walk-ins and high volume placements. Negotiate with employers to develop community employment opportunities for individuals who visit the Career Center that will result in permanent employment. The primary duty is to obtain orders from employers for employment of those who may not otherwise be able to secure employment on their own without the help of Goodwill. Secures paid or unpaid contracts/agreements from employers.

Essential Functions:



  • Negotiate and secure the highest quality employment matches with with opportunities appropriate to a person's strengths and skills.
  • Identify and report leads, market analysis, and other services in response to market and program demand to drive sales.
  • Maintain regular contact with business partners contracting for services with Goodwill of North Georgia and with funding agencies documenting these outcomes in a CRM system.
  • Ensure that the highest quality individualized services are delivered with a focus on the mission of Goodwill of North Georgia.
  • Primary marketing function is to develop and maintain quality relationships with customers in a sales relationship with time spent in the Career Center, in face-to-face interaction, telephone, and email follow-up.
  • Conduct research and analysis and prepare reports as requested on employment/labor market trends and placement outcomes to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain employer relationships through Business Advisory Councils (BACs) and other employer forums.
  • Support the operations of the Career Center site and providing excellent customer service to high volume walk-ins.
  • Ensure and maintain accurate documentation of operations. Open, review, and maintain a person's case records and documents according to Career Services policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement individual plans for each service delivered.
  • Prepare a professional development plan (PDP) and engage in quarterly updates to achieve goals.
  • Comply with Agency, Career Services, CARF, federal and grant regulations, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the Agency's safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Attendance at majority of TTFs
  • Complete all core training
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirments and Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or a counseling-related field or
  • Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation or a counseling-related field AND one (1) year experience in a related field or
  • Associate's degree in a vocationally related field AND two (2) years experience in a related field or
  • Three (3) years experience in counseling linking with community resources, special education, or instruction.
  • Strong sales background.
  • Good time management, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Specialized knowledge that will assist in the ability to obtain contracts and negotiate fee-for-service opportunities including strong working knowledge of medical, psychological, social, and vocational aspects of disability and/or disadvantaging conditions; of community resources; of occupational information and job readiness.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships, and extensive experience networking with employers and industry leaders.
  • Must be computer literate and functional in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to provide positive leadership in a flexible geographic environment where self-direction, prioritizing, and organizational skills will be crucial to success.
  • Ability to be flexible in hours and work locations (across greater service area) to accommodate the needs of the Business contracts, Program, and Goodwill.
  • Strong ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of organizations and individuals.


Working Environment Conditions/Requirements:



  • Position is an onsite office position and required to report to the office daily during normal business hours.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for occasional offsite career fairs and events.
  • The ability to push, pull and lift 20lbs. with or without accommodations.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform all duties relating to Career Services including driving, material handling, transporting and carrying documents, handbooks and various supplies.
