This role will work hybrid from our American Fork, UT location.
The Vice President of Software Engineering serves as the engineering leader for all North American applications and integrations. This role oversees all software engineering activities and teams within the North American business units of Henry Schein One. The VP is responsible for ensuring the development and delivery of innovative, competitive, and high-quality software solutions that meet strategic business objectives.
What You Will Do
- Software Development Leadership:
- Lead product software development, quality assurance, and collaborate closely on architecture, infosec and deployment functions
- Direct the overall engineering effort to deliver new or enhanced products to market on schedule
- Champion modern software development approaches, methodologies, and design patterns to drive innovation and efficiency
- Act as a customer champion through engagement and problem solving with a track record solving customer issues and creating system improvements that directly impact customers
- Strategic Leadership:
- Formulate and implement software development programs, policies, and procedures to maintain competitive advantage
- Engage with internal stakeholders (leadership, sales, product management, marketing, and business development) and external stakeholders (customers, partners) to drive product and service expansion
- Serve as a member of the senior engineering leadership team to shape and execute the strategic direction of the company
- Be seen and heard as an industry expert and trusted advisor to industry partners and customers
- Cultural Leadership:
- Promote Team Schein values by fostering an environment of respect, collaboration, and inclusivity across all levels of the organization
- Embody and advocate for the cultural beliefs of the HS1 engineering organization
- Organizational Leadership:
- Act as a role model for the engineering division, setting a standard of excellence for human capital management
- Participate in the global leadership team, contributing to the overall business strategy
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and worldwide business standards in all work-related tasks
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
Travel/Physical Demands
- Travel typically less than 20%
- Office environment with no special physical demands required
Qualifications
What You Will Have:
- 15+ years of progressive management and leadership experience in an executive level engineering position
- Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in related discipline
- Experience leading cross geography, global teams in the size of 200+ full-time employeesand 100+ nearshore and offshore resources
- Experience with multiple products and software languages
- Experience or knowledge of IT/Architecture/Security/Infrastructure
- Experience in managing a budget of $35-$40 million USD
- Deep technical knowledge and expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The posted range for this position is $255,000 to $325,000, which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a target bonus not reflected in the posted range.
