Job Summary

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to customers, including handling cash transactions and identifying customer needs to recommend appropriate Bank services. Adheres to established policies and procedures under the direction of the Bank and supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Processes night deposits and mail-in deposits.
  • Maintains proper cash levels in drawers, secures cash, and ensures safety measures are upheld.
  • Services ATMs as scheduled or needed.
  • Assists with opening safety deposit boxes.
  • Complete CTR reports as required.
  • Performs branch CSR duties during scheduled Saturday rotations.
  • Handles cashing checks, receiving deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, making change, and issuing receipts.
  • Processes savings deposits and withdrawals after verifying balances and signatures; redeems U.S. Savings Bonds.
  • Accepts loan payments accompanied by installment loan coupons.
  • Processes credit card cash advances.
  • Responds appropriately to customer inquiries.
  • Sells cashier's checks.
  • Promote and cross-sells Bank and affiliate services.
  • Performs various balancing functions, including ATM balancing.
  • Complete all the training required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months of customer service and cash handling experience; experience in a bank or similar financial institution preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to greet and assist the public courteously and professionally in various situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of Bank records and customer transactions.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of multitasking; strong mathematical skills required.
  • Proficiency in operating computer terminals, 10-key devices, and general office equipment.
  • Willingness to represent Southern Bancorp in civic and community organizations.
