Overview

CAES Mission Systems, Lansdale PA is seeking a Sr. Manager Supply Chain to lead and direct a high performing division supply chain organization. The Sr. Manager's primary focus will be to continue developing high performance standards for the supply chain organization and identifying and developing an optimal supply base. This role will also provide daily management of integrated strategic and tactical purchasing and material proposal functions.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes selection, work allocation, training, development and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate, coach and mentor employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; invest in employees welfare through interaction, social events and education growth; select and develop high quality team members.
  • Develop and manage the external supply base through supply chain initiatives such as core/non-core and make/buy assessments, strategic sourcing and low-cost-country (LCC) sourcing, part family strategies. Lead cost reduction efforts through the use of long term agreement (LTA).
  • In support of strategic or cost objectives, lead or support the execution of work transfer (buy to buy, make to buy) utilizing risk mitigation strategies, while optimizing project cycle times.
  • Manage and expand vendor managed activities in support of simplification and overhead reduction.
  • Responsible for ensuring all site goals for cost, including direct material performance to cost targets, and overhead cost targets/budgets, are realized.
  • Responsible for ensuring all site goals for supplier deliver, including SOTIF and overdue parts/lines, are realized
  • Responsible for supporting all site goals for supplier quality, in collaboration with Supplier Quality.
  • Responsible for supporting all site goals for cash improvement.
  • Lead Material Proposal team to ensure key milestones are met and data is effectively transferred to future proposals and within the Supply Chain organization.
  • Collaborate with management and employees on Excellence and execution deployment, continuous improvement ideas, innovative concepts to promote creativity; consistently work with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business, including thorough assessment of intangible variables, identifying and evaluating fundamental issues and providing strategy and direction for major functional areas.
  • Partner with internal and external peers, subordinates and executive management, requiring negotiation of critical matters and promote improvement ideas that can influence policy decisions.
  • Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.
  • Ensure 5S is adhered to and sustained within work area.
  • Coordinate, schedule and facilitate as applicable Root Cause Problem Solving and Lean/Six Sigma activities for own work area as well as for other areas to enhance cross-functional problems solving; utilize Company tool champions as appropriate for more significant lean events.
  • Develop, track and report visual metrics, including KPI's for area; meet all performance targets, react to metrics by identifying and solving problems, making improvements and advancing process control.
  • Review, approve and distribute procurement requests and follow up to verify prompt action of buyers; collaborate with buyers if necessary to resolve issues.
  • Establish new sources of supply independently and through organizational recommendations; promptly obtain quotes for new projects.
  • Collaborate with organization to develop streamlined systems of stocking and replenishing inventory.
  • Liaison between CAES and potential suppliers or in problem resolution with existing suppliers.
  • Ensure buyers comply with Small Business Administration and Department of Defense regulations in procurement activities, including outreach efforts to disadvantaged suppliers.
  • Develop and support teams that make suggestions, take initiative and actively implement improvements.
  • Collaborate in team meeting and activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

HOW TO SUCCEED

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • 6-8 years of increasing responsibility in procurement, sourcing, commodity management or supply chain positions to include contract negotiation and FAR/DFARs experience
  • In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license) as this role requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 4-5 years of increasing responsibility in procurement, sourcing, commodity management or supply chain positions to include contract negotiation and FAR/DFARs experience
  • Demonstrated history of performance leading complex contract negotiations
  • Demonstrated history leading the execution of work transfer projects
  • Works in an environment where continuous improvement methods are utilized to manufacture quality products according to design specifications and customer expectations
  • Works in a leadership capacity positively influencing employees across functional areas

  • Reasoning skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Computer skills: exposure to a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Microsoft office suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, Fastlook and Anzio; experience in using Enterprise-wide information systems such as SAP;
  • Time Management & Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; strong planning and organizational skills; ability to multi-task within tight time constraints

Salary Range: Sr. Manager Supply Chain: $142,195.00 - $175,652.00 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
