The Group:

The Corporate team unites a variety of functions at Morningstar including design, marketing, finance, quality, talent & culture, corporate communications, legal, compliance, strategic planning, and technology with the goal of keeping our business running smoothly. Each of these functions plays an essential role in supporting our company's infrastructure, day-to-day operations, and ongoing strategic initiatives.

The Role:

Recruiting and retaining "Great People" is critical to Morningstar's future. You will play a high- profile role in ensuring we are successful in that effort. This is an ideal role for someone with a process and programmatic mind set, who likes developing scalable ways of moving hundreds of early career employees through the early years of their career at Morningstar and who has experience communicating effectively to senior leadership, middle managers and new arrivals. We add 50+ people to the development program every year and are proud of the leadership roles they've taken on over the 15 years that the MDP has been in place. To be successful you will be passionate about guiding those who are early in their career and excellent at building relationships with managers to find great roles for or early career talent. In the role you will gain a broad understanding of Morningstar's business as well as learning the key disciplines of human resources.

This position is based in Chicago. We are operating in a hybrid work environment, where we are in office 3 days/week.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop career and skills development programs:
  • With 60% of our hiring coming from internal candidates, you will play a critical role in helping our business leaders staff their teams and design training to grow our early career talent to be exceptional contributors to our business.
  • Leverage the power of the enterprise to build a great career experience for Morningstar's early career talent
  • Develop, improve and oversee training curriculum and apprenticeships for Morningstar Development Program participants
  • Partner with the program participants, their direct managers and leaders across the company to place new and current program participants into open positions balancing individual career interests and needs of the company
  • Continuously improve and enhance the program participant and manger experience
  • Facilitate the creation of a standard to link all Morningstar development programs globally
  • Participate in and guide the early career hiring process executed by our Talent Acquisition and Operations team:
  • Support the maintenance of candidate information in our applicant tracking system and manage the candidate relationship from initial contact to disposition
  • Actively participate in the team that manages relationships with colleges, universities, and career centers, while enthusiastically promoting Morningstar as a great place to work through campus recruiting and other promotion efforts
  • Execute on the recruiting process by posting jobs, reviewing resumes, arranging interviews, providing employment offers, and onboarding participants of the Morningstar Development Program and Summer Intern Program

Desired Experience:

  • Excellent communication, client service and negotiation skills
  • Project or program management experience with strong attention to quality and detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for Morningstar's mission and values
  • Previous experience in human resources, client service, sales or recruiting is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • A minimum of 5 years experience

Base Salary Compensation Range

$94,280.00 - $169,720.00

Total Cash Compensation Range

$117,850.00 - 212,150.00 USD Annual

Morningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to work remotely and collaborate in-person each week. While some positions are available as fully remote, we've found that we're at our best when we're purposely together on a regular basis, typically three days each week.
