OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company's nationally recognized Surveying & Mapping Business Unit is immediately seeking a Survey Instrument Person to be based out of our Greenwood Village, CO office. Local candidates preferred. No previous experience required, but must be willing to learn and also have a desire to strive towards a career path in land surveying. The typical pay range for this position is $19 - $24 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Merrick & Company is seeking career and quality minded individuals for challenging projects including all types of Boundary, GPS, Photogrammetry, Easement/Right of Way, ALTAs, Terrestrial Laser Scanning, Topographic Surveys and Construction Layout. Successful candidate will work under direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor and party chief.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Candidate is willing to travel out of town up to three (3) weeks at a time.
- This position will have the ability to work locally at times and also out of town at times depending upon the work load in or out of town.
- Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.
- Local candidates only.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Trimble survey equipment.
- Experience with setup and use of survey field equipment preferred.
- A bachelor's degree or associate degree in a geospatial field preferred.
- One (1) year of survey experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to carry survey instruments and equipment in remote, rural or urban surroundings
- The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
