Job Overview

The Manager of Planning and Staffing Analytics ensures that Bloomingdale's stores and central staffing have the tools and analytics available to drive staffing and scheduling by overseeing the technical and financial aspects of staffing including: maintaining Prep and MyConfig systems, partnering with Macy's Systems and Technology to maintain and implement new technologies. The Manager of Staffing and Planning Analytics works with Senior Manager of Staffing Analytics and Initiatives, Sr. Director of Staffing, Sr. Director of Finance, and Gross Margin Planning to manage all aspects of store staffing seasonal plans, and develops payroll plans by store by week for selling, cosmetics, outlets and support. In addition, this Manager will monitor and provide weekly budgets and sales forecasts to MST for schedule generation remaining fiscally responsible.

Essential Functions

Planning



  • Builds and maintains Prep database for SOTNY, NY, Cosmetics, Outlets and Support.

    • Coordinates and maintains department mapping for all stores, and provides mapping for Compensation, Intersell, fulfillment, Omni Client, and GLDPTL.
    • Configures and coordinates mapping and zone changes in Prep Database and MyConfig system and maintains Pick Path sequencing and mapping for fulfillment.

  • Lead and direct the systemic portion of the seasonal planning process; pulling and mapping department sales plans, building topside targets creating databases, and working with stores and staffing to implement new zones.
  • Builds payroll models, to plan payroll and tie to payroll targets by store
  • Plans payroll by zone by week, for SOTNY, NY, Cosmetics, Outlets, and parts of Support, and ensures payroll ties to targets by store and uploads payroll plans by zone by week to RTR. (Oracle Expense System)

    • Oversees planning process for staffing team, and coordinates with Sr. Manager of Staffing Strategies, Sr. Director of Staffing and Sr. Director of Finance to ensure plans flow appropriately and comprehends any late breaking changes to plans or compensation. Works with Sr. Manager of Staffing Strategies and Director of Finance to re-flow payroll plans by week as needed each season.
    • Leverages OneStream/RTR reporting to ensure plans are uploaded accurately and that they are not adversely affected by additional uploads.



Execution



  • Partners with MST on new technologies and serves as product manager on transition to new platforms including MSPA, MyConfig, NYOS, MTO, and Pick Path
  • Reacts to business trends to drive business opportunities and minimize expense exposure.

    • Runs weekly budgets and volume forecasts for SOTNY, NY, Cosmetics, and Outlets and comprehends up-staffing for strategies, and pull back hours strategically as needed, comprehend and incorporate calendar shifts.

  • Oversees and ensures Work Area table is updated appropriately to support Unavailable days and PTO.


Maintains all aspects of new zones, including configuring in Prep and MSP, opening new General Ledger accounts, coordinating budgets and scheduling around MSP configuration timelines.

Analytics



  • Monthly creation and analyzation of the BAR (Bloomingdale's Area Report-staffing metrics report). Regularly monitor business results and react to the needs of the business by providing recommendations for staffing re-allocation.
  • Provides analytics to drive sales and staffing

    • Produces PTD, STD and YTD BAR and Gross BAR reporting
    • Produces monthly NYOS upload for staffing team

  • Creates Ad Hoc reporting as needed for stores, and central Including Smart View financial reporting and sales planning and department mapping
  • Perform other duties as necessary.



Qualifications

Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School diploma required.
  • 3-4 years of experience in a retail related field with or analytical experiences


Communication Skills:



  • Must have strong analytical skills and able to delve into complex data and information, analyze possible options and develop and implement recommendations
  • Regular collaboration with Senior Management and Store Teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills


Mathematical Skills:



  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with analytical skills.


Reasoning Ability:



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Develop and execute plans and strategies quickly, capitalizing on momentum and incremental progress
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues and present findings
  • Ability to summarize and present complex findings in a clear, concise and timely manner


Physical Demands:



  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Involves use of hands and fingers for typing on keyboard and using a mouse. May involve moving or lifting items under 20 pounds.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality is required
