Job Description

The School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics are pleased to announce the opening for a Sr. Finance & Accounting Analyst. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department's mission and goals for our finance team.

Detailed Description:

* Budgeting and forecasting as well as financial planning.
* Prepare and verify amounts and codes for various standard accounting entries, data input or other forms, and encode and obtain necessary approvals for processing.
* Prepare, review and/or approve accounting transactions that are non-recurring and/or requires a knowledge of fund accounting principles.
* Perform complex analytical assignments requiring thorough understanding of the University's financial information and its relationships to the accounting profession.
* Independently assist and advise administrators and faculty on accounting related matters. Instruct and advise support staff on financial and accounting methods and procedures.
* Other duties as assigned

Shift

Shift Type: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

*Strength in financial modeling as well as a robust understanding of best practices
*Strong data skills paired with self-motivation and a hands-on mentality
*Advanced understanding of financial principles
*Strong oral and written communication skills
*Proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite
*Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting
*Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems and aptitude to learn new systems
*Ability to think conceptually and comfortably with the ability to make decisions in absence of detailed instructions
*Strong project management skills (particularly project plan, risk management and status reporting)
*Must demonstrate customer service, integrity, and a strong commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity in their activities

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $51,875 - $66,000
Grade: GGS-010
