Overview: Pep Boys is seeking a talented and creative Interior Design Manager to join our Design Team. This new role will be instrumental in shaping the interior aesthetics and functionality of Pep Boys' ground-up projects and interior renovations. The Interior Designer will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure cohesive and innovative design solutions that align with Pep Boys' brand standards, business objectives, and optimize the Customer Experience. This role is hybrid, 3 days in office, based out of our Bala Cynwyd office. Key Responsibilities:
- Material and Specification Selection: Identify and recommend materials, finishes, and specifications for interior spaces, ensuring quality, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Space Planning: Develop and refine interior floor plans, optimizing layouts for functionality, efficiency, and brand consistency.
- Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E): Select, procure, and oversee the installation of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment for projects, adhering to project budgets and timelines.
- Design Oversight: Lead the interior design process for all ground-up projects and interior renovations, ensuring that designs meet operational and aesthetic goals.
- Brand Alignment: Collaborate with the Marketing and Design teams to ensure that all design elements reflect and enhance Pep Boys' brand identity.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the AVP of Design, Design Manager, Construction Managers, and other internal stakeholders to align design efforts with project goals and timelines.
- Vendor Management: Partner with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to source materials and ensure timely delivery and installation.
- Compliance: Ensure all interior designs adhere to building codes, safety standards, and company guidelines.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for interior design components of projects, providing cost estimates and tracking expenditures to ensure financial goals are met.
- Innovation: Stay updated on interior design trends, sustainable practices, and new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in interior design, preferably in retail, automotive, or commercial projects.
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong knowledge of FF&E sourcing and procurement.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with building codes, ADA compliance, and sustainable design practices.
