HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate for this position will provide services to the College of Arts & Sciences faculty to facilitate the level of faculty review required by the University System of Georgia. Will also be responsible for gathering, compiling, archiving, and formatting data regarding faculty research, teaching and, service for annual evaluations, structured reviews and, promotions. In addition, managing tenure on appointments, emeritus and clock stoppage petitions.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Coordinator are the following:



  • Develop and maintain records of faculty review activities for all college faculty, this includes the creation of templates for each structured review for over 560 regular faculty; formatting and proofreading of final drafts of structured reviews and promotion applications, including, evaluations created by the College P&T area committees and Dean's Office assessments of candidates.
  • Responsible for interfacing with sources of faculty review data outside of the Dean's Office (e.g., SEI data, department-level evaluations, external review letters), creating updates, and managing web content on a weekly basis.
  • Develop and maintain resources to support department and college-level review of faculty, including preparation and dissemination of materials guiding faculty through the various review processes; providing support to the Faculty Review Services Coordinator in the development of training materials for area committee review work; development and dissemination of materials to support department chairs and P&T committees in their review of TT and NTT faculty.
  • Provide materials as requested to the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the creation and revision of faculty review policies.
  • Work with others who support A&S Faculty Affairs to develop an up-to-date list regarding faculty review for dissemination to full faculty.
  • Provide ongoing clerical and office support to the Faculty Review Services Coordinator and the Associate Dean as needed to develop and innovate faculty review processes to keep the College of Arts & Sciences in compliance with the USG and GSU faculty review policies and processes.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and one year of administrative experience; or high school diploma or GED and five years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Clerical or office support experience in a college-level office, excellent oral and written communication skills, meeting deadlines, and a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality are essential qualifications for this position.
  • Must also demonstrate effectiveness in working in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WebEx, and website design is desirable.
  • A successful candidate must be able to learn and keep up to date with current software supporting record management. Some experience working in higher education is also desirable but not mandatory.
