Posting Summary
The Department of Animal Sciences, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Cook Campus, New Brunswick, Rutgers University, NJ, is seeking a qualified candidate to provide logistical academic support as a co-adjutant in the Department of Animal Sciences. The hire will be responsible for classroom support by organizing and coordinating lectures and demonstrations, along with the administration of lesson plans, review sessions and grading. They will also prepare and implement guidelines and provide oversight and facilitation of student concerns. This individual will create informational materials; provide supporting research, analysis, and proposal data; and produce statistics, reports, and document the data. In addition, they will assist with learning management software set-up, and course materials review sessions during the assigned course times and coordinate any other requirements related to the courses.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
A Masters Degree or DVM or Ph.D. in Animal Science or veterinary or biological science is required.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have advanced knowledge about biological science and animal nutrition, and up to two years relevant experience in a teaching position, good communication, and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. Familiarity with web-based teaching resources and electronic media is also required.

Overview
The Department of Animal Sciences, with strong roots in the Land Grant tradition, has as its mission "to improve the health and well-being of animals, including humans, through integration of teaching, research, and outreach." Animal Science is a popular major for many students at Rutgers with over 450 students enrolled in one of the five options: Pre-veterinary Medicine/Research, Laboratory Animal Science, Equine Science, Production Animal Science, and Companion Animal Science. The curriculum provides students with the scientific knowledge, technical skills, and experience to be competitive for entrance into professional schools (veterinary, graduate, medical, etc.) or employment in animal science-related fields.
