Description The Senior Physician Liaison is a member of the Physician Relations team which serves the needs of referring medical professionals and their patients. The Senior Physician Liaison develops and implements strategic marketing plans in a geographically defined territory to increase referrals from community physicians into Children's National Hospital. Collaborates with our service line chiefs and our specialists to facilitate relationships with community referring physicians, gathers market intelligence, logs activities in Salesforce and reports out to manager in a timely manner, analyzes referral patterns and demonstrates ability to drive results. The Senior Physician Liaison coordinates with physician practices and Children's operational team to problem-solve and measure physician satisfaction trends, participates in the development and execution of an internal intake team to support field outreach initiatives and serves as lead CRM user for the physician relations team. The Senior Physician Liaison assists manager in data analysis and development of referral growth strategies.

Experience with Salesforce and reporting is preferred as responsibilities also include working with CRM administrator on ongoing enhancements, data hygiene, and identifying and resolving issues to avoid negative impact to Physician Relations team.
Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree concentration in business, marketing, communications, or a related field (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years related experience in a liaison, marketing, or physician sales role in healthcare setting (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Understands the complexities of various operational systems that integrate into the CRM such as the Hospital electronic medical record.
Knowledgeable with electronic medical records and other hospital operational systems.
Business development skills are a plus.

Functional Accountabilities
Research and Strategy



  • Utilize referral data across each territory to identify overall and service line specific referral patterns.


  • Assist in the development of short- and long-term marketing plans to optimize the use of physician referrals to health services.


  • Provide strategic council across the organization as it relates to physician relations by attending meetings and joining committees focused on referring physician relations and communications.


  • Assist the Manager to develop physician targeted strategies to enhance communications and partnerships with referral community


  • Possess superior written and verbal communications skills with internal and external audiences.


Physician Outreach



  • Coordinate and implement visits to referring practices to build and maintain relationships, include ongoing follow-up and monitoring.


  • Provide information about Children's services lines, key physicians, initiatives, and research.


  • Coordinate with Children's operational and service excellence departments to problem-solve, identify trends and suggest improvements, and measure trends in physician satisfaction.


Physician Relations



  • Serve as bridge between Physician Relations team, contact center, medical records department, clinical informatics team and others who are part of the referral process/pipeline to improve referral process.


  • Participate in the development and execution of an internal intake center to improve provider satisfaction and increase referrals.


  • Serve as the Salesforce superuser and work with the Salesforce Administrator to ensure proper data hygiene and proper systems integration.


  • Manage workflows, process improvements and other upgrades that may impact the Salesforce Physician Relations platform that is shared with other departments such as PHN and contact center.


  • Work with Manager to identify and develop outreach tactics based on data from NPI, ICD 10 codes and other data.
