DSG is seeking a highly motivated National Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth in the Wholesale Trade industry. The successful candidate will have a key role in developing and executing sales strategies to accelerate growth within the Utility and Communications segments. As the National Sales Manager, you will lead and mentor a high-performing sales team while identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to expand our presence in new geographies. *Hybrid or remote flexibility is available for qualified candidates within our footprint.

A Typical Day in the Life of the National Sales Manager at DSG:

  • Lead and manage the Utility and Communications sales teams, ensuring alignment with corporate growth objectives and sales targets.
  • Develop and execute a national sales strategy to expand business in new geographies, targeting high-potential areas within the Utility and Communications sectors.
  • Drive market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities in target regions. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying, cultivating, and securing new customer relationships and business opportunities.
  • Work closely with the marketing and product teams to develop tailored solutions for regional markets, ensuring product offerings meet the unique needs of Utility and Communications customers.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to enhance product offerings and market presence.
  • Manage and mentor a diverse sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure success in meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Build a high-performing sales culture by recruiting top talent, establishing clear performance expectations, setting measurable goals, and using internal tools like Lets Grow and measurement to plan/budget.
  • Conduct regular sales training sessions to enhance product knowledge, selling skills, and strategic thinking.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and delivery of products to customers in new markets.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through consistent follow-up, problem-solving, and proactive service.
  • Develop and manage the sales budget for the Utility and Communications segments.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market conditions to executive leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

A Successful National Sales Manager Typically Has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales leadership, with at least 5 years in the Utility or Communications sectors within the wholesale distribution industry.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share, particularly in new geographical areas.
  • Strong experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams in a national or regional capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of the wholesale distribution industry, particularly in the Utility and Communications sectors.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse sales team.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with an ability to engage with senior executives and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, customer needs, and competition to make data-driven decisions.
  • Lead with a people-first mindset, steward of the ESOP, and in alignment with our core DSG values.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, sales reporting, and forecasting.
