Position Title: SR. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER - REDMOND, WA

Pay Grade: 16

Salary: $145K-$155K/yr.

Job Summary

The Senior Human Resources Manager will play a critical role in leading and executing strategic HR initiatives across multiple states while ensuring effective labor relations in a unionized environment in partnership with the Director of Human Resources. This role will have direct reports consisting of Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), other HR support team members and will focus on fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and driving organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

  • Provide strategic HR leadership and mentorship to a team of three Human Resources Business Partners.
  • Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning.

Union & Labor Relations:

  • Act as the primary HR representative for all labor relations matters.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with union representatives.
  • Manage collective bargaining agreements and handle grievance procedures with support for HR Business Partners.

Multi-State HR Operations:

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across multiple states.
  • Oversee policy implementation and standardization across regions.
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters across jurisdictions.

HR Business Partnership:

  • Partner with HRBPs to ensure the effective delivery of HR services.
  • Identify and implement HR best practices to enhance employee engagement and retention.

Training & Development:

  • Develop and implement training programs for operational managers on leadership, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Facilitate workshops and coaching sessions to enhance managerial capabilities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments as needed.

Essential Skills:

  • Business leader with an expertise in HR.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly up and down the organization and leadership teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing HR related projects.
  • Builds credibility and earns the trust of key leadership.
  • Strong business acumen - understanding what levers drive results and the Commercial application (e.g. participation and driving the sales process).
  • Coach and influencer.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency; willingness to travel; flexible time management skills.
  • Balance execution with planning.
  • Intellectually curious - continuous improvement mindset, critical thinking.
  • Courageous - willing to engage in healthy proactive debates focused on improvement of the function and business.
  • A professional and commercial approach to HR, with the ability to deliver high employee satisfaction, appropriate development and reward for individuals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, including union and multi-state experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing HR teams.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • Experience in a multi-site operational environment.
