The Opportunity:

Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave and /or emergency situations occur. Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside of the designated territory.

This is not a work-from-home career. The ideal employee should reside in the Great Boston area and will be responsible for traveling between multiple locations in Massachusetts. You must also be willing and able to travel outside of Massachusetts if needed.

Location: Cambridge, MA

Shift: 1st shift Monday-Friday

Hourly Rate: $27/hr. - $29/hr. plus mileage, parking and toll reimbursement

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license/CDL

Mileage reimbursement for miles driven from your door to the client location. Overnight travel assignment bonus program.

What we're looking for

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science related field is a plus.

Experience:

  • 3 -5+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales,

Preferred Qualification/Certification:

  • IATA, DOT, HAZWOPER, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG

  • Forklift Certification

  • Valid driver's license required; Valid Commercial Driver's License required

  • Reliable transportation required

  • Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services, a plus.

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

Support multiple facilities and/or customers primarily in the Greater Albany, NY area in which they are based to perform the job functions listed below during associate scheduled vacations, associate leave, open positions, and/or emergency situations occur.

Coordinators, Technicians, Team Leads, Glass Washers, Lab Support Technicians, Site-specific Project Managers

  • Requires traveling to customer sites.

  • Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.

  • Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.

  • Interfaces directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and material.

  • Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager and/or other customer specific applications.

  • Trains Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.

  • Provides SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, invoice scrubbing).

  • Modifies and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.
