Inside the Role

As the Corporate Security Manager USA Canada, you will oversee and manage all security operations across the company's manufacturing and distribution locations. This role involves developing and implementing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the security and protection of employees, assets, and facilities. You will lead a team of security personnel and work closely with other departments and external partners to maintain a secure environment.

Position offers a starting salary range of$136,000 - $173,5 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Develop and Implement Security Policies: Create and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols that align with industry best practices, global standards, and legal requirements. This includes consulting with CEOs, Plant Managers, and other executives to ensure successful implementation.
  • Manage Security Personnel: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of security personnel and contractors across all locations. Lead, motivate, and develop employees through target agreements and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee Security Operations: Manage security systems, conduct investigations, and respond to emergencies to ensure the safety of all facilities. Ensure the implementation of an efficient and professional Security Operations Center to support the North America region on a 24/7/365 basis.
  • Coordinate with Departments and External Partners: Work with HR, IT, and other departments, as well as local law enforcement and emergency services, to integrate security measures into overall operations. Develop a strong working relationship/network both internally and externally with relevant entities and authorities.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify, assess, and manage security risks to the organization, developing security concepts to mitigate risks. Ensure that new developments and trends in the field of security are considered in strategies and concepts.
  • Provide Security Guidance: Offer security-related advice and guidance to senior management and other stakeholders. Foster the shared responsibility for security at all levels.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management and emergency response plans. Direct and oversee investigations as needed.
  • Corporate Security Strategy: Execute the Daimler Truck global security strategy and develop/implement the DTNA security strategy.
  • Member of the Corporate Security Executive Committee: Contribute to the development of security concepts for the global organization.
  • Security Budget Management/Reporting: Support capital and other ad-hoc security projects as required. Establish a robust reporting and communication process to work with relevant business entities on all aspects relevant to the security of the business, people, and assets.
  • Security Expert: Provide guidance related to company location security, investigations, assignee/travel security, emergency/disaster preparedness, crisis management, and other special projects including security coordination and support of other event activities;
  • Regional Security Officer for North America: Lead interface for global security team
  • Travel up to 25%

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8 years of progressive management experience
  • Management experience in the areas of corporate security or other comparable emergency response organizations (law-enforcement or non-law-enforcement)
  • Experience in crisis management and project management
  • Function as an effective, results driven contributor who requires minimal management oversight
  • Competence in international employee leadership and management of "virtual/global" teams
  • Experience working in a heavy manufacturing organization or related field
  • Working knowledge in Security Concepts, Access Control / CCTV / Alarming Systems, Contract Security Services, Fire Prevention, Event Protection, Personnel & Executive Protection, Crisis/Incident Management/Emergency Response, Security Standards / Processes / Best Practices, Security Training, Budget & Financial Planning Process, Collective Bargaining Agreements and/or related field

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Degree in Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, or Business Management
  • Security Certification (CPP, PSP, etc.)
  • Fire Protections Certification (CFPS, etc.)
  • International experience in security
  • Experience working in a globally matrixed organization
  • DTNA's Global Network knowledge
  • Experience rolling out company wide training programs
