Director of Pharmaceutical Sales Operations

Location: Central-South New Jersey area

Hybrid-Will reside within 2 hours driving distance of office-3 days office

We are searching for an experienced Director of Pharmaceutical Sales Operations supporting one of our client teams. The successful candidate will reside in the Central/Southern New Jersey area. Utilize your start up sales operations experience to join our team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in our client's office. Job Summary:
The Director - Pharmaceutical Sales Operations plays a critical role in driving sales performance and operational excellence within the organization. This position oversees the daily operations of a sales team, collaborates with sales leadership to develop and implement effective sales plans, and analyzes sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. The role is essential in managing the sales forecasting process, developing training programs, and fostering strong relationships with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the Associate Director will lead initiatives to streamline processes, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and provide ongoing support and coaching to our sales representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the pharmaceutical sales team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and implement sales plans that enhance productivity and drive revenue growth.
  • Analyze sales data and metrics to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the sales forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
  • Develop and maintain sales training programs to enhance team effectiveness and product knowledge.
  • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and regulatory, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the sales operation function.
  • Implement and maintain sales enablement tools and technologies to support the sales team.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to sales representatives, promoting a culture of high performance and accountability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8- 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales operations or a related field
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales enablement tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
  • Proven track record in managing sales operations in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • High emotional intelligence, capable of understanding and responding to the needs and motivations of team members.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with sales analytics tools is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment while maintaining strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with start-up pharmaceutical companies.
  • Experience with small pharmaceutical companies
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) in a related field.
