FTE: 10, Shift: days, Schedule: 8 hr shifts varying between days and evenings, including weekends and holidays, 40 hours per week

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee, with oversight from Pharmacy staff, performs the same technical duties as a Pharmacy Technician, except those that are legally the Pharmacist's sole responsibility. These activities are done within the oversight of a Pharmacist.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accurately maintain records and assures accountability of all controlled substances.
2. Assists with inventory management, medication and supply ordering.
3. Assists in maintaining the Pharmacy in a neat and clean condition using taught 5S techniques.
4. Practices excellent customer service when answering phone calls and talking to customers; respect, problem solver and adequate follow through of needs of customer.
5. Participates in continuing education programs as necessary to enhance knowledge pertinent to departmental needs. Help to implement new knowledge within the department.
6. Through attitude and example, demonstrate Memorial's expectations for customer service.
7. Initiates and receives "Commitment to My Co-Worker" feedback, strengthening our culture.
8. Undertake and/or assist with projects as necessary to improve and maintain a high standard of pharmacy service.
9. Utilize supplies and equipment adequately but not excessively.
10. Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
Outpatient Duties
11. Assist with the filling of outpatient prescriptions accurately and processes billing correctly.

12. Coordinator for special education and activities such as third-party billing, accounts receivable reconciliation, and (if applicable) refill authorization.
Inpatient Duties
13. Process reports and cart fills for automated dispensing devices accurately and according to department policy.
14. Prepare IV admixtures aseptically, accurately and with proper labeling and documentation
15. Trains in the area of medications history obtainment (med rec tech).

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: Must be an active participant in the Pharmacy Technician Trainee Program
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State (DOH) Pharmacy Assistant licensure required.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.50 - $18.50 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
