Position Summary: The College Savings Field Representative communicates the features and benefits of Nebraska's NEST 529 program. This professional provides timely updates and key information to those interested in saving for future college costs. This position requires extensive travel across the state of Nebraska to increase awareness of the highly regarded Union Bank 529 Plans.

The Field Representative will distribute information about the 529 programs to financial advisors, employers, hospitals, services groups, and other decision makers. They will research and implement creative strategies to market the plans to financial professionals and potential investors.

Essential Functions:



  • Make proactive marketing calls (in-person and phone) to financial advisors, and other professionals with current business to strengthen the relationship they have with Union Bank's 529s.
  • Call on existing relationships with employers, hospitals, libraries, schools, and other organizations.
  • Identify, call on, and convert financial advisors into producing financial advisors.
  • Plan, schedule appointments, and implement effective travels throughout the state.
  • Research and implement campaigns and messaging.
  • Attend and promote Union Bank's 529s at various local and regional conferences and events.
  • Provide 529 Field Coordinator with regular updates regarding activity and trends.
  • Assist Call Center as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training: follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Mutual fund, investment, finance, tax and/or financial planning experience preferred.
  • Project a strong professional image with ability to positively promote UBT's 529 and service excellence philosophy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and in working with other financial software.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record

Working Environment:

Travel required across the state.

Weekly travel requires overnight hotel stays.

Lifting and/or carrying up to 30 lbs. occasionally

Moderate exposure to outdoor elements or hazards.

This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding.
