Experienced Survey Technician

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for an Experienced Survey Technician. This position will work mostly independently and will conduct surveys throughout North Dakota.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and organizing surveys
• Operating various survey equipment
• Performing courthouse research
• Performing calculations and preparing reports in support of surveys
• Recording field data

This position requires heavy lifting and working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver's license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

The successful candidate must have at least one of the following:

• A bachelor's degree or higher in land surveying, civil engineering, or related field
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in field survey operations, data collections, topographic survey and field control

OR

• An associate degree or higher in land surveying, civil engineering, or related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in field survey operations, data collections, topographic survey and field control

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:

• Survey equipment such as data collectors, robotic total stations and GPS devices
• Construction staking
• Conducting topographic surveys
• Civil 3D
