DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Fiscal Technician will provide a wide range of clerical and accounting duties involving the application of bookkeeping principles and procedures by recording, reviewing, and processing financial records for accuracy, quality, and conformance to accounting standards. This is an advanced bookkeeping position which will utilize your thorough knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices, skills in the performance of accurate and detailed arithmetical calculations, and understanding of established fiscal methods, polices, and regulations. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, one day per week, after successfully completing three months of continuous, regular employment in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Youngwood.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny, Armstrong, Cambria, Fayette, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
